Venting Capacity
Kennedy Solar Attic Fan Venting Capacity
Several factors can affect the amount of attic ventilation a home needs. Variables such as vaulted ceilings, amount of existing venting (soffit, ridge, gable), attic shape, pitch and obstructions must all be taken into account when calculating the amount of attic venting needed. Your Kennedy Solar Attic Fan distributor will determine the correct size unit or units needed for your specific installation. The output chart reflects the average venting capacity and cfm output for each solar panel size available.
KENNEDY SOLAR ATTIC FAN OUTPUT CHART
Solar Panel Size | Venting Capacity | CFM Output |
---|---|---|
32 Watt Model | up to 2,200 sf | up to 1,560 cfms |
35 Watt Model | up to 2,400 sf | up to 1,599 cfms |
48 Watt Model | up to 2,825 sf | up to 1,881 cfms |
65 Watt Model | up to 3,350 sf | up to 2,105 cfms |
CFM refers to cubic feet of air moved per minute. The higher the cfm number, the greater the capacity to move air.

We are committed to manufacturing quality, environmentally responsible products that provide energy saving for our customers. The innovative design of using the suns energy to vent your attic, makes the solar attic fan extremely energy efficient. Additionally, lowering the temperature of the attic in the summer months can lighten the load of your HVAC system. Because our fans are so energy efficient, they qualify for tax credits. Simply, adding a solar attic fan can cut your energy costs saving you money while protecting the environment!
Residential Models Qualify For Solar Tax Credits
Kennedy Solar Attic Fans are so energy efficient that they qualify for a 30% Federal Tax Credit in the Solar Energy Systems category under Photovoltaic Systems as defined in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. In order to qualify for tax credits, the solar attic fan must have been properly installed meeting all applicable building, electrical and fire codes. Residential models may also qualify for local and state solar and utility credits.
Claiming Your Tax Credit
To assist with claiming a tax credit, Kennedy has provided a Statement of Certification for homeowners. Please download and complete the form and keep it with your tax records. The Statement of Certification is not required to be filed with the your forms, but income tax regulations require taxpayers to have appropriate documentation to qualify for a tax credit.
Adjustable Solar Panel Models
The adjustable panel roof and curb mount models are designed with a unique pivoting mounting bracket that allows the solar panel to be positioned in the angle where it will collect the most sunlight for optimal fan performance. This adjustable solar panel bracket system maximizes the sun exposure on the solar panel to accommodate all roof slopes. We also mount the solar panel in a raised position to reduce heat build-up and provide increased air circulation around the panel for better performance.
Solar Panels Can be Adjusted to the Optimal Sun Angle for Peak Performance
Extremely Durable
Kennedy Solar Attic Fans are Designed to Withstand the Harshest Weather Conditions
The Kennedy Solar Attic Fan was designed to be extremely durable. The fans flashing and housing are constructed using heavy-duty aluminum to protect it from harsh weather conditions. Our high impact solar panels withstand the pounding of hailstorms and high wind speeds. The round design of the attic fan also helps water and melting snow run off the unit. The unit is secured to the roof using (8) heavy-gauged screws to hold it in place. Adding a silicone seal around the flashing ensures that the unit is watertight.
In 2007, our solar attic fans survived the tornadoes that ripped through central Florida. The high-end EF-3 tornado with winds exceeding 160 mph killed at least 19 people and destroying hundreds of homes. The Kennedy attic fans installed in that community withstood the severe weather and remained in working condition!
In 2008, a powerful hailstorm with softball and golf ball sized hail hit Texas near Fort Worth. The hail damaged cars and smashed windshields, but the Kennedy Solar Attic Fan survived in perfect working condition. The solar panel sustained no damage or scratches while the housing was only slightly dented (pictured). A roof turbine installed next to it did not fair as well!
