Choosing the Right Glass Skylight for your Home
Skylights are a popular home upgrade - they add warm, bright natural light to interior spaces while reducing the use of artificial light. Our glass skylights are the best in their class with hurricane approved models available. Glass skylights can add an architectural impact to any home. Our vented glass skylights have the advantage of allowing fresh air to enter your home. Glass skylights feature insulated, extremely durable glass that will not yellow and can help in soundproofing neighborhood noise.
Kennedy glass skylights come in several sizes, configurations and 2 mounting types: curb mount or deck mount. Curb mounted skylights install over a pre-built box. An advantage to installing a curb mount unit is that the skylight can be replaced without the need of re-flashing as long as the curb is in good condition. Deck mounted skylights have a lower profile because there’s no curb underneath. They are considered more energy efficient because they sit closer to the roof. Take the time to plan out the design of your skylight including the unit size, to add the most architectural impact to your home. Cosmetic upgrades add equity to your home as well as making spaces brighter and appear more spacious.

Tempered and High Impact Glass
Tempered Glass
Tempered glass undergoes a specific heating process which involves heating the glass and then cooling it very quickly. When the inner portion of the glass cools, the surface and edges become very compressed. This process creates a glass that if it should crack will fracture into very small pieces versus larger glass shards.
High Impact / Hurricane Rated Glass
Impact-resistant glass uses a safety glazing process created by bonding together two panes of glass with a thin clear film. This film holds the glass in place and makes it resistant to impact. If the glass should accidently break, the glass fragments will stick to the plastic film preventing injury.
